Basketball Recap: Burgin Comes Up Short

Burgin extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-7. They came up short against the Cumberland Christian Home Educators Hawks, falling 77-53. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-28.

As for Cumberland Christian Home Educators, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-3. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Cumberland Christian Home Educators got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joshua Sloan out in front who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. Sloan is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Tigue, who posted 15 points along with five assists and four steals.

Burgin has already played their next contest (against Fort Knox), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Cumberland Christian Home Educators, they will head out to take on Madison Christian Academy on Friday.
