Softball Recap: Shannon Comes Up Short

Shannon lost against Amory back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Red Raiders lost 18-8 to the Panthers. The Red Raiders just can't catch a break and have now endured 12 defeats in a row.

Shannon's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Amory, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-10 record.

Shannon and Amory could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings. The Red Raiders (ranked 175th) will meet Tishomingo County (ranked 40th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Amory will square off against Nettleton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (88 vs. 11).
