Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Clinton's Tenth in Last 11 Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Clinton walked away with it. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over the Manteo Redskins on Tuesday.

The result came thanks to Jaxson Smith's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brennon Bell was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Clinton is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Manteo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-7.

Coming up, Clinton will square off against Bunn on Friday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Dark Horses' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Manteo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
