Football Recap: Creekside Starts Season with Victory on the Road + How To Watch

Creekside had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Rome Wolves as they made off with a 48-28 win. Things were looking grim for the Seminoles in the first quarter (they were down by 21) but they stormed back to get the matchup.

Creekside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gary Walker out in front who rushed for 194 yards and one score while picking up 9.7 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Ced Kelley, who rushed for 124 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Creekside proved: they limited Rome to a paltry 1.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Carter Jamison for the heroic effort on defense: he. Creekside didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.2.

Creekside's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. Leading the way was Amarion Jones with two. Creekside got some further help from Jamison: he picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles.

When it comes to explaining why Rome lost, don't look at Aidan McPherson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 50 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 96 yards and a pair of TDs. The Wolves also got help from Justin Spivey, who showed off his sure hands for 85 receiving yards.

Creekside has already played their next game, a 32-0 win against Seminole on the 22nd. As for Rome, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Carrollton at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th.
