Basketball Game Preview: Firelands Falcons vs. Midview Middies

The Firelands Falcons are taking a road trip to square off against the Midview Middies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Firelands knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Midview likes a good challenge.

Firelands was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Clearview on Friday. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 58-35 margin over the Clippers. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Falcons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Midview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-43 heartbreaker at the hands of Valley Forge.

Firelands will have to contain Xavier Young as he made an impact in Midview's last game. He dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luke Jockel, who posted 15 points.

Midview's loss dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Firelands, their victory bumped their record up to 7-14.

Firelands might still be hurting after the 67-44 defeat they got from Midview when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
