Baseball Game Preview: Maplewood Rockets vs. Windham Bombers

The Maplewood Rockets will face off against the Windham Bombers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Maplewood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Maplewood came up short against St. John and fell 12-9. The defeat continues a trend for the Rockets in their meetings with the Fighting Herald: they've now lost three in a row.

Kenyan Clover was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Suba, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, Windham lost 13-3 to Bristol on Monday. The Bombers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maplewood's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Windham, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Maplewood took their win against Windham in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 21-10 score. Do the Rockets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bombers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
