Basketball Recap: Easley Green Wave vs. Greenwood Eagles
The Easley Green Wave fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Greenwood Eagles on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Eagles 76-70. Easley has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Easley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Drey Jackson, who shot 6-for-10 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jackson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Crews, who scored 23 points along with two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greenwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jeremiah Brooks, who scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was Cj Terrell, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Easley has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Greenwood, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-5.
Easley will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenwood, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th.
