Baseball Recap: Four Corners Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Four Corners put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Wekiva Mustangs a 25-0 shutout. This was payback for the Coyotes, who suffered a 5-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Angel Gonzalez made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gonzalez was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Gonzalez is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stolen at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other pitching news, Jose Malave looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Four Corners got a massive performance out of Jhonny Vasquez, who went a perfect3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Vasquez is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stolen at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Favor Maithe was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Four Corners always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wekiva only posted an OBP of .154.

Four Corners pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Wekiva, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Four Corners will host Ridge Community at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wekiva, they will challenge Legacy Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
