Soccer Game Preview: Wayne County vs. Lewis County

The Wayne County Wildcats will face off against the Lewis County Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wayne County's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wayne County managed to keep up with Adamsville until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Wildcats lost 4-1 to the Cardinals.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Lewis County's offense. They came up short against Richland on Monday, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Lewis County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Richland are ranked 121st).

Lewis County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13-1. As for Wayne County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Wayne County beat Lewis County 2-0 in their previous meeting back in March. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
