Soccer Game Preview: Page vs. Northern Guilford

The Page Pirates will venture away from home to face off against the Northern Guilford Nighthawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Page's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Western Guilford as they made off with a 4-0 win. The result was nothing new for Page, who have now won five contests by four goals or more so far this season.

They hit Western Guilford with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from London Coley (2), Alex Woods, and Wren Smith.

Meanwhile, Northern Guilford had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Vikings. Give Northern Guilford's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Page has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those five matches. As for Northern Guilford, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6-2.

Page suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Northern Guilford in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
