Basketball Recap: Round Top-Carmine Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

There's no place like home for Round Top-Carmine, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They strolled past the Fayetteville Lions with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 54-39. The Cubs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Fayetteville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maycee Miller, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 15 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Jurecka, who posted eight points in addition to nine rebounds and three blocks.

Round Top-Carmine's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Fayetteville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Round Top-Carmine will look to defend their home court on Friday against Brazos Christian at 5:30 p.m. Brazos Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Round Top-Carmine surely won't give up without a fight. As for Fayetteville, they will face off against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
