Football Game Preview: West Wendover Wolverines vs. Incline Highlanders

After each having a week off, the West Wendover Wolverines and the Incline Highlanders will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Wendover comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when West Wendover and North Tahoe meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again last Friday. The Wolverines lost 26-6 to the Lakers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wolverines came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 73rd in Nevada, while the Lakers are ranked 1013th in California).

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Incline and Pershing County had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Highlanders were beaten by the Mustangs 46-0 last Friday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Highlanders were not able to get on the board.

West Wendover's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Incline, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

West Wendover was dealt a bruising 61-0 loss at the hands of Incline in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Can the Wolverines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
