Preview: Pendleton County Wildcat vs. Paw Paw Pirates

After four games on the road, Pendleton County is heading back home. They will take on the Paw Paw Pirates at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Pendleton County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Harman 82-35 on the road. Pendleton County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Paw Paw was able to grind out a solid win over Hancock on Friday, taking the game 78-67. The victory was just what Paw Paw needed coming off of a 81-46 defeat in their prior matchup.

Paw Paw's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Donavan Tanouye, who almost dropped a double-double on 34 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Tanouye has scored at least a third of Paw Paw's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Crabtree, who scored 24 points along with two steals and two blocks.

Pendleton County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Paw Paw, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.

Everything came up roses for Pendleton County against Paw Paw when the teams last played last Wednesday as the team secured a 81-46 victory. Will Pendleton County repeat their success, or does Paw Paw have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
