Baseball Game Preview: Lynbrook Vikings vs. Fremont Firebirds

Lynbrook is 2-8 against Fremont since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Lynbrook Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fremont Firebirds at 3:30 p.m. Fremont took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Lynbrook, who comes in off a win.

Lynbrook gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over Gunderson. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Jacob Sit was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaden Yung, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. William Tai was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Lynbrook always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gunderson only posted an OBP of .394.

Meanwhile, Fremont came up short against Ann Sobrato on Saturday, falling 11-3.

Lynbrook now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Fremont, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Lynbrook came up short against Fremont in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 6-2. Can Lynbrook avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
