Basketball Recap: Rickover Naval's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After a string of three wins, Rickover Naval's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to the Mather Rangers 41-37. The Seadragons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rangers from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Rickover Naval's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Mather, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rickover Naval will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Clark at 5:00 p.m. on January 22nd. As for Mather, they will challenge Muchin College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Muchin College Prep's defense has only allowed 29.9 points per game this season, so Mather's offense will have their work cut out for them.
