Basketball Recap: Reagan Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

Reagan won the last time they faced SA Roosevelt and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Reagan Rattlers secured a 50-44 W over the SA Roosevelt Rough Riders. Given the Rattlers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Rough Riders are ranked 341st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Reagan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole Hill, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Garrison, who posted eight points.

When it comes to explaining why SA Roosevelt lost, don't look at Carmelo Martinez. Despite the final result, he had 14 points and four steals. Those four steals gave Martinez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Shai Markajani, who scored eight points.

Reagan is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for SA Roosevelt, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Reagan will face off against Madison at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Reagan is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season. As for SA Roosevelt, they will square off against Johnson at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Johnson has seven straight victories, SA Roosevelt has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
