Baseball Game Preview: Pomona Red Devils vs. Mountain View Vikings

The Pomona Red Devils will challenge the Mountain View Vikings at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Pomona's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Mountain View's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Pomona is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Academy of Careers & Exploration. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by eight runs or more this season.

Leo Luna was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Brandon Cruz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Mountain View played against Shalhevet on Tuesday and won via forfeit.

Pomona has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Mountain View, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-11.
