Softball Recap: West End Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West End had no problem doing just that on Monday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Cleveland Panthers. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-2 win back in March.

Emma Franklin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, West End let Kayla Dixon and Bella Falkner run wild. Dixon went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base, while Falkner got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI. That's the most RBI Dixon has posted since back in March.

West End pushed their record up to 20-9 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Cleveland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-24 record this season.

West End will have a chance to go back-to-back against Cleveland: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
