Southeast Polk hadn't done well against Ankeny recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Rams' pitchers stepped up to hand the Hawks an 8-0 shutout. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.

Southeast Polk's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Ankeny, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
