Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, the Mourning Sharks couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were dealt a 64-36 loss at the hands of the Rockets on Wednesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mourning in their matchups with Central: they've now lost six in a row.

Mourning's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makayla Dorvil, who scored nine points.

Central was led to victory by Corianna Warner and Damaria Gatlin. Warner scored 21 points, while Gatlin scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gatlin has scored all season.

Mourning's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Central, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-8.

Mourning does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face Norland on February 9th.
