Recap: Potomac Falls Panthers vs. Riverside Ram
The Potomac Falls Panthers put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 63-59 W over Riverside. 63 seems to be a good number for Potomac Falls as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Potomac Falls got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was David Marshall out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnny Opiola, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Several Ram players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Ridgeway, who scored 16 points. Joell Basue was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Potomac Falls pushed their record up to 18-0 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Potomac Falls will take on the Falcons at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Briar Woods will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Panthers are ranked 20th). As for Riverside, they and the Bolts will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lightridge is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
