Softball Recap: El Dorado Springs Has No Trouble Against Adrian

El Dorado Springs made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Adrian, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Blackhawks with a sharp 18-3 win on Monday. Considering the Bulldogs have won four matches by more than 12 runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Lacyn Perrodin made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She also put up a walk, which was her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooke Coale, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Coale is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Tayah Garringer, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

El Dorado Springs hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.

El Dorado Springs' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Adrian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

El Dorado Springs will venture away from home to square off against Butler at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Adrian, they will welcome Archie at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
