Iona Prep has gone a perfect 10-0 against Chaminade recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Gaels will head out on the road to challenge the Flyers at 1:30 p.m. Iona Prep is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Iona Prep is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New York's top teams: St. Anthony's, who was ranked eighth at the time (Iona Prep was ranked first). The Gaels enjoyed a cozy 50-36 win over the Friars on Friday.

Iona Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julian Guzman, who threw for 309 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.4 yards per attempt. Thanks to that big game, Guzman is now up to 16 passing touchdowns on the season. Joe Wolf was Guzman's top target, picking up 128 receiving yards and three scores.
Meanwhile, after only seven points in their last matchup, Chaminade made sure to put some points up on the board against St. Francis Prep on Sunday. The Flyers put the hurt on the Terriers with a sharp 45-22 victory. The win continues a trend for the Flyers in their matchups with the Terriers: they've now won three in a row.
Iona Prep better keep an eye on Sean Carnevale. He was instrumental in Chaminade's win, rushing for 40 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 161 yards on 12 of 17 attempts. Those 40 rushing yards gave Carnevale a new career-high.
Chaminade was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 230 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Chaminade, racking up 21 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ben Bekiers, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from him.
Iona Prep's record is now 5-0. As for Chaminade, their record now sits at 4-2.
Iona Prep took their victory against Chaminade in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 34-14 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gaels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
