Softball Game Preview: East Henderson Eagles vs. Tuscola Mountaineers

East Henderson hasn't had much luck against Tuscola recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Mountaineers at 6:00 p.m. East Henderson will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, East Henderson turned things around against North Henderson on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 12-6 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Eagles have posted against the Knights since April 29, 2022.

Keira Hodge was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Maggie Staton was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: East Henderson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Tuscola came up short against North Henderson on Tuesday and fell 6-3. The Mountaineers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tuscola's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for East Henderson, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 4-15.
