Soccer Game Preview: Interlachen vs. Newberry

Interlachen is 0-9-1 against Newberry since November of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Interlachen Rams are taking a road trip to face off against the Newberry Panthers at 7:00 p.m.

Interlachen is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 10-2 to Oak Hall. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 611th, while the Eagles are ranked 303rd).

Meanwhile, Newberry entered their tilt with P.K. Yonge on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Blue Wave 5-4. The score was all tied up 2-2 at the break, but the Panthers were the better team in the second half.

Their offense was hitting P.K. Yonge from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.

Newberry's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3-1. As for Interlachen, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13-1.

Interlachen suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Newberry in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can Interlachen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
