Volleyball Recap: Evan Sun Key Part of Team Effort in Delta Kings Win

Stagg took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Weston Ranch, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Stagg Delta Kings had just enough and edged out the Weston Ranch Cougars 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Delta Kings have posted since April 4, 2024.

While Stagg might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Weston Ranch scored at least 12 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-20, 22-25, 15-25, 15-12.

Stagg's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Sun, who had 24 kills and 20 digs. With that strong performance, Sun is now averaging an impressive 5.8 kills per game. Another player making a difference was Micah Chamroeun, who had 31 digs and two assists.

Stagg's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-6. As for Weston Ranch, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
