Newton-Conover suffers third straight loss on the road

Recap: Newton-Conover Red Devils vs. Bandys Trojans

The Newton-Conover Red Devils were the 62-20 winner over the Bandys Trojans when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Newton-Conover fell 49-37 to Bandys on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that Newton-Conover has lost by exactly 12 points.

Newton-Conover's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hadleigh Swagger, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Barnes, who scored six points.

Rachel Anderson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bandys, scoring 23 points along with six steals and five assists. Anderson hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Lexi Vaughan was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.

Newton-Conover bumped their record down to 3-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Bandys, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.

Newton-Conover will be playing in front of their home fans against Bunker Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bunker Hill has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for Bandys, they will head out on the road to challenge West Caldwell at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. West Caldwell is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
