It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Solorio had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Von Steuben Panthers an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Solorio, who have now won 11 contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Von Steuben from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Dixie Zamago-Garcia led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Solorio is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 63 goals over those 14 games. As for Von Steuben, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9-1 record this season.

Solorio and Von Steuben are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Sun Warriors will venture away from home to take on Fenton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Von Steuben, they will square off against Mansueto at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
