Softball Recap: Cypress Ranch Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Cypress Ranch had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Cypress Lakes on Tuesday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 13-0 win. Considering the Mustangs have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Layla Gallardo looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Cypress Ranch got a big performance out of Ashtyn Domec, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one run. Those two hits gave Domec a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abigail Walker, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Cypress Ranch pushed their record up to 16-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Cypress Lakes, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 16 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
