Volleyball Recap: Sprayberry Starts Season with Loss at Home

Sprayberry unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Chattahoochee Cougars by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Sprayberry actually scored more points across those three sets (66-57), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 26-24, 19-17.

Arianna Luckett paced Sprayberry's offense, picking up ten kills. Luckett got some help from Caleigh Jones-Baugh and her 12 assists. Finally, Luckett was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Coincidentally, Sprayberry and Chattahoochee will both be playing North Murray the next time they take the court. The Cougars will head out to face the Mountaineers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Yellow Jackets will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
