Volleyball Recap: Harper Vesey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Poland Seminary over Howland

Poland Seminary lost against Howland back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bulldogs came up short against the Tigers, falling 3-0. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Poland Seminary was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-21, 25-21.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Harper Vesey, who had 14 digs. Vesey has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Jakubovic, who had 18 digs and one assist.

Howland can attribute much of their success to Gabby Rich, who had 11 digs and two aces.

Poland Seminary's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Howland, their win ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 12-8.

Poland Seminary wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Tuslaw on the 16th. As for Howland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Hoover on the 11th.
