Softball Game Preview: Morgan Township Cherokees vs. Hobart Brickies

The Morgan Township Cherokees will challenge the Hobart Brickies at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Morgan Township has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Morgan Township lost 11-2 to Boone Grove on Saturday. The Cherokees have struggled against the Wolves recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Hobart can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over Westville.

Ladan Weinman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nora Hornak, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hobart kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Morgan Township's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Hobart, their victory bumped their record up to 11-13.
