Baseball Recap: Mallard Creek Takes a Loss

Mallard Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Charlotte S Stampede. If the Mavericks were looking for revenge after losing 10-4 to the Stampede when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

David Victoria made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has become a key player for Mallard Creek: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-12 otherwise. Cohen Wright also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Mallard Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Charlotte S, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-12.

Mallard Creek has already played their next contest, a 7-2 loss against Charlotte Latin on the 15th. As for Charlotte S, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Butler on the 16th.
