Soccer Game Preview: Richland County vs. Salem

The Richland County Tigers will square off against the Salem Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Richland County had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least four goals, but Mt. Zion put an end to it on Monday. The Tigers fell just short of the Braves by a score of 1-0. Richland County's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Salem got the win against Altamont on Tuesday by a conclusive 8-1. Salem might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Altamont from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Eli Baker led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

The victory made it two in a row for Salem and bumps their season record up to 13-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those two matches. As for Richland County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3-2.
