Basketball Game Preview: Firelands Falcons vs. Vermilion Sailors

The Firelands Falcons will face off against the Vermilion Sailors at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Vermilion took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Firelands, who comes in off a win.

Firelands took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They strolled past Wellington with points to spare, taking the game 45-29.

Meanwhile, Vermilion played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 50-30 to Clyde. The Sailors haven't had much luck with the Fliers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Firelands is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Vermilion, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Firelands beat Vermilion 46-36 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Does Firelands have another victory up their sleeve, or will Vermilion turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
