Softball Recap: Caldwell's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Payne Tech, Caldwell was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Boonton Bombers. That looming 12-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Chiefs yet this season.

Lylah Ulrich was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucia Luzzi, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Caldwell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

With the victory, Caldwell broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-8-1. As for Boonton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Caldwell will venture away from home to face off against West Essex at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Boonton, they will welcome Saddle Brook at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
