Volleyball Game Preview: Lake Stevens Vikings vs. Skyline Spartans

The Lake Stevens Vikings will head out to challenge the Skyline Spartans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lake Stevens is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.

On Thursday, Lake Stevens got the win against Mount Si by a conclusive 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Lake Stevens took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-13, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Skyline narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Issaquah 3-2.

Skyline was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (105-99), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 12-25, 22-25, 25-21, 15-12.

Lake Stevens better keep an eye on Sanika Vipin. She was instrumental in Skyline's win, getting 19 digs. That's the most digs Vipin has posted over her last seven matchups.

Skyline's win bumped their record up to 18-8-3. As for Lake Stevens, their victory bumped their record up to 28-3.

Everything went Lake Stevens' way against Skyline when the teams last played back in November of 2023, as Lake Stevens made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
