After losing to Briggs the last time they met, Centennial decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Stars put the hurt on the Bruins with a sharp 17-3 win on Tuesday. Considering the Stars have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ellie Glover made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Ryan Hammond was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Aza Corbett, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple.
Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Briggs, they dropped their record down to 12-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
As of now, neither Centennial nor the Bruins have any future games scheduled.
