Baseball Recap: Southern Starts Season with Win Against Grace Academy

Southern had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Grace Academy Knights with a sharp 14-2 victory on Thursday.

Southern let Bryson Bennett and Kasey Reckart run wild. Bennett scored two runs while going 3-for-3, while Reckart scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Reckart a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Ben Lohr, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Southern has already played their next match, a 4-3 loss against Fort Hill on the 21st. As for Grace Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 13-1 win against Cumberland Valley Christian on the 21st.
