After a string of four wins, Cardinal Gibbons's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were not able to make up for their defeat to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in March of 2022.

Cardinal Gibbons saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Randy Petron, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Petron has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Cardinal Gibbons' loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Cardinal Newman, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-1-1.
