Recap: Redeemer Christian Lions vs. St. John Lutheran Saints
The Redeemer Christian Lions suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by St. John Lutheran on the road and fell 69-24. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Redeemer Christian has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Redeemer Christian had strong showings from Selena Martin, who scored 12 points, and Cami Satterfield, who scored eight points.
St. John Lutheran's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isabel Freeman led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 17 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Freeman scored 15 or more points. Gracie Sue Rice was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with four steals and two blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Redeemer Christian and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for St. John Lutheran, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Redeemer Christian will face off against Riverside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Riverside Christian is out to stop a nine-game streak of losses at home. As for St. John Lutheran, they will head out on the road to take on HEART HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. HEART HomeSchool is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
