Alcoa waltzed into their game on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They took down the Pigeon Forge Tigers 56-37. Given the Tornadoes' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Tigers are ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alcoa has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Pigeon Forge, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

Alcoa won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Greeneville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Alcoa knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Greeneville likes a good challenge. As for Pigeon Forge, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Seymour at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pigeon Forge is facing Seymour at the right time seeing as Seymour is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
