Football Game Preview: Laredo LBJ Wolves vs. Eagle Pass Eagles

Laredo LBJ hasn't had much luck against Eagle Pass recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wolves will welcome the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Laredo LBJ's last matchup with Medina Valley could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Wolves came up short against the Panthers, falling 28-7. The game marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Eagle Pass came up short against Medina Valley last Friday and fell 47-38. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game back in September (31), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Laredo LBJ will have to contain Xavier Barrera as he made an impact in Eagle Pass' last game. He rushed for 205 yards and one score while picking up 12.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 204 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 16 passes. Another player making a difference was Luis Flores, who gained 107 total yards and three touchdowns.

Having lost for the first time this season, Laredo LBJ fell to 5-1. As for Eagle Pass, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Laredo LBJ couldn't quite get it done against Eagle Pass when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 24-17. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Flores, who rushed for 140 yards and one TD. Now that the Wolves know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time?
