Football Recap: Moses Lake Takes a Loss

Moses Lake and Lake Stevens squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Moses Lake had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Vikings and fell 76-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mavericks have suffered since November 9, 2024.

Several Mavericks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brady Jay, who threw for 454 yards and six TDs while completing 72% of his passes. Elijah Burns also helped out as he racked up 183 receiving yards.

Leading Lake Stevens to victory were Blake Moser and Jayvian Ferrell. Moser threw for 336 yards and five touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes, while Ferrell gained 255 total yards and three touchdowns. Those 336 passing yards gave Moser a new career-high. A healthy portion of Moser's aerial production (93 yards to be exact) went to Seth Price, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Moses Lake fell to 11-1. As for Lake Stevens, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0.

Moses Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Stevens, they will host Graham-Kapowsin at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,882 yards in their previous games.
