Basketball Game Preview: Anna Coyotes vs. Sherman Bearcats

The Anna Coyotes will take on the Sherman Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Anna is coming into the contest hot, having won their last ten games.

Anna not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since December 11, 2025 (when they won 95-70). Everything went their way against Greenville as they made off with a 69-46 victory. Given the Coyotes' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Lions are ranked 972nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Sherman faced off against Walnut Grove on Tuesday. 2026 welcomed the Bearcats with a 72-50 loss courtesy of the Wildcats. The loss continues a trend for the Bearcats in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Anna's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Sherman, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-18.

Anna got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in January of 2025 against Sherman by a conclusive 66-42 score. Do the Coyotes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bearcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
