Softball Recap: Cedar Ridge Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Cedar Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Southeast Alamance Stallions 5-3.

Charlotte Lowry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mia Best, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Qiaura Rogers, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

Cedar Ridge pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Southeast Alamance, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

As of now, neither Cedar Ridge nor the Stallions have any future games scheduled.
