Volleyball Recap: Owego Free Academy's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

Owego Free Academy was the 3-2 winner over Corning-Painted Post when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The River Hawks fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The loss put an end to the River Hawks' undefeated start to the season.

Owego Free Academy took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-20, 24-26, 21-25, 25-15, 15-12.

Having lost for the first time this season, Owego Free Academy fell to 6-1. As for Corning-Painted Post, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Owego Free Academy will face off against rival Chenango Forks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Corning-Painted Post is set to square off against their familiar foe Ithaca at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
