Recap: Northside Christian Academy Crusaders vs. Greenwood Christian Hawks
The Northside Christian Academy Crusaders fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Greenwood Christian Hawks on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 83-82 to the Hawks. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (77), Northside Christian Academy still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Northside Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Hilton Dessausure. Despite the final result, he scored 30 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dane Sundell, who scored 21 points along with 9 assists and 3 steals.
Northside Christian Academy's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 5-2. As for Greenwood Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Northside Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Spartanburg Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Spartanburg Christian Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Greenwood Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Orangeburg Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Orangeburg Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 188th, while Greenwood Christian is ranked 27th).
