Baseball Recap: Redondo Union Takes a Loss

Redondo Union lost against Mira Costa on Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sea Hawks fell 4-1 to the Mustangs. The Sea Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Robby Zimmerman was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 6.2 innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Redondo Union saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mikey Ricardo, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Redondo Union's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Mira Costa, the win (which was their 22nd in a row) raised their record to 24-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Redondo Union will take on South at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Mira Costa, they will be playing at home against St. Bernard at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
