Farmington came tearing into Monday's matchup with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Prior Lake Lakers with a sharp 12-2 win. Considering the Tigers have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Olivia Peterson spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hannah Hansen, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydence Moe, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Farmington's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Prior Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Farmington will face off against rival Eagan at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 1.6, the Wildcats 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Prior Lake is set to take on their familiar foe Rosemount at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
